Today the IT Acquisition Advisory Council (IT-AAC) and CMMC Accreditation Body (AB) have announced a partnership to establish a Cyber (CMMC) Center of Excellence that builds on IT-AAC’s existing congressionally chartered “do tank”.

This Public/Private Center of Excellence will leverage and aggregate the significant resources and expertise of leading Cyber shops (SDOs, NGOs, EDU, .Mil, .Orgs) under one umbrella with the following goals.

  • Bring together the many voices across the DIB Supply Chain to help advise govt, congress, and industry on best ways of meeting the goals of the CMMC.
  • Provide an honest broker and force multiplier for SMBs to get educated and prepared for CMMC and related Cyber hygiene standards.
  • Help enable existing DIB Communities of Practice and Industry Groups keep abreast of emerging changes, threats and educational programs that can be applied within their own domain, in a shared expense/revenue model.  We have access to the CMMC SMEs, frameworks and training material that is ready to be repurposed and leveraged.
  • Expand existing partnership with DOD CIO and DAU to deliver training programs that help PMs and CORs properly apply the CMMC standard.
  • Help our NATO partners leverage the CMMC within their own supply chains.  IT-AAC’s first engagement will be with CMMC-EU.com

The IT-AAC was chartered in 2007 as a Public/Private Partnership for promoting Digital Transformation and Cadence in IT Acquisition, and adding CMMC is a natural extension of our work. “We are already in the process of collaborating on our common goals and engaging with NDIA, PSC, AFCEA, Comptia, NDISAC, CMMi, Center for Internet Security.” – Mr. John Weiler, Executive Director & Co-Founder shared today.
